2019 in Review

Business ownership is a wild ride. From making sure all of the essentials are covered to finding the inspiration to keep creating, it’s a balancing act - to say the least. But, we are continually grateful for the opportunity to be on this crazy train and for all of the memories that come along with it. So today, and with 2019 coming to a close, we thought it would be fun to recount some of our favorite moments and milestones from the last 365 days!

Celebrated Sourced Co.’s 1st Business Birthday / We blinked and Sourced Co. turned 1! And, it was definitely cause for celebration. Because, being a business owner is kind of like being a parent. You bake that baby for a long while before it makes its debut and then do everything you can to make sure that it survives (and thrives) in its first year of life. We are incredibly thankful for all of the support and encouragement we continue to receive and are incredibly proud of how far we’ve come.

Released 12 New Collections / 12 more months in business meant 12 more collections! But this year, our production schedule kept us on our toes. Because, when your photographer is expecting her first baby, you have to change your plans! We broke our usual routine of shooting a collection every month to get ahead of the little babe and went on a photoshoot blitz—coordinating and shooting 5 collections in 8 weeks. It was a test in Tayler’s project management skills (she passed) and set us up for a great rest of the year, even though our last shoot was on August 22nd. And, we could not have done it without Elaine Chang Photography jumping in on shoots when we needed it—a thousand thank you’s Elaine!

Which collections did you all seem to love the most? The stock video collection and Summer Sets!

Launched Single Images in The Shop / Sometimes success comes after failure and this would be one of those times. When we launched our online shop in 2018, it only included image bundles because that is what we thought you wanted. Turns out, it wasn’t! So, we worked behind the scenes to restructure things and relaunch with single images earlier this year - which now, you all are showing us you’re stoked on :)

Participated in 15 events / Though we didn’t get to attend every one in-person, our baby business participated in 15 events this year! From forever favorites like LVL Academy to supporting workshops put on by new friends like Natalie Holland and Catherine Guidry, it was an absolute pleasure to send our acrylic styling blocks all over the country. Plus, we even got to send gifts to the mac-daddy of wedding industry conferences in the Bahamas! (Ask us about what it was like to prep 400 mini-sets for Engage Summits and how great of an idea it was to restring the bags with silk ribbon 😜.)

Expanded our Product Line to Include Stock Video / When you’re a business owner, you have a decent list of “pie in the sky” ideas that you think might not ever see the light of day. But this year, we got to bring one of ours to life with a lot of help from Audrey Alba Films! Jason and Sean started showing up to photoshoots back in March so that we could start exploring what stock video clips would look like. It was a fantastic (and fun) learning experience for everyone and we were stoked to finally show you all what we had been keeping a secret. Jason and Sean are two more people that we cannot thank enough!

Collaborated with amazing partners / While most of our first collections were done behind closed doors, we had the honor of collaborating with tons of amazing creatives in 2019! Each and every one of these people helped us create stunning collections of stock photos for you and they continue to inspire us each and every day!

Witty Rentals | Ella Rose Farm | Heather Hoesch from LVL Weddings | Twinkle and Toast | Siren Floral Co. | Sarah Kay Love | Plenty of Petals | Hey There Cupcake | RMBO Collective | Hostess Haven | POP Studio | Holsem Coffee | Oak and the Owl | Veronica Alvarez

Teamed up with Greetabl / If our last highlight didn’t prove that we love collaborating, this one sure will! This year, our dear friend Meghan from Two Bright Lights introduced us to Joe and Zoè from Greetabl. We set up a call, bonded over that #startuplife, and came up with a plan to collaborate! And, in the spring, 3 of our stock art designs were added to their shop, so that you can customize your gifts with them! (Needless to say, Cassie was especially excited to see her designs on real-life products!)

Tayler was a Guest on 6 Podcasts / Put Tayler in front of a mic and she will always talk into it! Our girl had the pleasure of being a guest on 6 different podcasts this year and talked about everything from building a business to creating a content strategy. If you are ever looking for a good (and informative) podcast episode, give one of these a listen!

She Creates Business | Brands that Book | Wedding industry Insider | Bridal Business Bootcamp | Mistakes Make Magic

Hosted our own Flat Lay Workshop / With flat lay workshops becoming more and more popular, we thought it would be fun to put our spin on one! And, this spring, we teamed up with our friends Tam Ashworth, Epoch Designs, Priscilla Lee, and Pura Soul Photography to host our own!

And, last but not even close to the very least…

Celebrated Winter’s 1st birthday, Maren’s 2nd, and Welcomed Odette Aoife Wojcik to the World

We are beyond thankful for your continual support and inspiration! And, as we get ready to kick off another year of exciting things, we hope you know that we truly could not be doing this without you. Cheers to each of you, the best wishes for a prosperous new year, and all the hugs from the ladies here at Sourced Co.!

xo,

Tayler, Cassie, Christy, and Jen
