What's in Jenny Quicksall's Flat Lay Styling Kit
As a photographer, your styling kit is as important to you as an emergency kit is to a wedding planner. Because, when you show up to a wedding or shoot day, you never really know what you’re walking up to. There may or may not be a good surface to style on. Someone may or may not have left you props. The planner may or may not have ordered some loose blooms.
But, even though some things are out of your control, you may have put together a great styling kit and have nothing to worry about.
There are lots of photography props you can stock up on (styling mats and a long list of props for flat lays, just to name a few), but having more than a handful of acrylic styling blocks is a must! Because, whether you find yourself needing to level out an uneven surface, control that prop that just won’t cooperate or add subtle dimension to get the shot just where you need it to be, there is a block to help.

Jenny is a wedding photographer based in Los Angeles who has become known for her wedding flat lays over the past few years, and while she has more than a knack for putting together the perfect shot, our styling blocks have become one of her go-to styling tools. Jenny’s favorite round acrylic styling blocks
2 inch circle at 1/2” thickness
1.5 inch circle at 1/4” thickness

4x6 inch rectangular block at 1/2” thickness
