  • Tying the knot

Did you know that the phrase “tying the knot” comes from a Celtic wedding tradition? It’s an ancient custom where couples would hold hands while someone would tie their hands together with a ribbon or cord (called “handfasting”) and symbolizes the couples bonding and commitment to one another.

But one of the cool things about this common phrase is that it’s an African wedding tradition as well! Couples use a 3-cord knot to represent the couple and their God and reserve a part of the wedding ceremony to tie their wrists together as well.

  • Meaningful details

There is a story to tell with your wedding. From your story as a couple to your family’s traditions (and everything in between), it’s always a good idea to find inspiration in the details that shape who you are. And there are lots of ways to make sure you’re sharing your most treasured ones in your wedding design.

Write about 1 or 2 ways you like to incorporate personal details into a design.

I’d love to learn about your meaningful moments and talk about how you can turn them into the personal details at your wedding and share them with your guests. Click on the link in my profile to get the conversation started.
