Reels and TikTok Ideas for Wedding Planners

We’ve talked a lot about video marketing over the years but (honestly?) only off and on. Because, video used to be a bit of a luxury for brands and there wasn’t the expectation that everyone was leveraging it. Well, fast forward a year and here we are—officially in an era where video is no longer a luxury; rather, video is a necessary pillar for any brand or marketing strategy. (Cue the tears, it’s okay.) But, just because there is enormous pressure to regularly produce engaging video and feed the social media machines doesn’t mean your brain all of the sudden is ready to make the switch. So today, we wanted to help you make the switch by giving you a jumping off point that will last a while. Read on, bookmark this article or transfer these Reels and TikTok video ideas to your to-do list and start using the marketing tactics your brand needs to be.

  • Film yourself doing the pointing thing (no talking required and our very non-official term for this) and share a "PSA" of sorts to educate people about email response time, what expectations should be during the wedding boom or when they should start planning their weddings now vs. historically.

  • Record video clips showing what you do during a typical workday. Many (read: most) people don’t understand what a wedding planner actually does, so focus your storytelling on showing everything you do behind the scenes to help demonstrate the value of your services.

  • Use behind the scenes photos and video clips from a wedding and edit them together with a graphic that includes a short review from the couple to show off the product of your hard work and your happy clients in the same video.

Pro-tip: Our stock art is already conveniently sized with these dimensions and you can just save it to your phone.

  • Share a round-up list of songs you know will get people on the dance floor. You can record the video using your favorite song as the soundtrack song and pair it with video you take at different weddings with people on the dance floor. Include a slide (or multiple slides throughout) that are graphics or text showing the next song on your list.

  • Plan out and share a series of wedding planning tips that are your FAQs. You can position the concept as you asking a question and selecting from a multiple choice answer that is text you’ve shared on the screen.

  • Prop up your phone and record a timelapse video of you styling a flat lay with one of your favorite wedding invitations. You can even create a series out of it and share details about your favorite stationery designers or tips about making sure invites get designed, ordered, sent, and RSVPs returned on time.

  • You’re prepared for anything as a wedding planner. Record a video that shows people what is in your wedding day emergency kit.

  • Everyone thinks being a wedding planner is glamorous but we all know it can be far from it. Create Reels or TikTok videos that depict what people think your job is vs. was it really is.

  • Film a step-by-step video of you putting together a welcome bag for guests. You can share tips of what to include and even do a few of these that talk about what you would include for a beach wedding, a destination wedding, a longer wedding weekend, etc.

  • Newly engaged couples are always looking for ways to personalize their wedding. Show them ideas for their wedding décor and details to demonstrate how creative you are.

  • Answer the question, “How long does it take to plan a wedding?”

  • Give a tour of your favorite rental company’s showroom and call out your favorite pieces

  • Walk people through your design process to give them an idea of the experience they’d have

  • Share different placesetting options (plated meal, buffet, family style)

  • Do a round up of your favorite ring styles and what they look like as weddings (ex. a modern ring with a modern mood board or a feminine ring with a feminine mood board)

  • Boost your engagement and ask people to vote for their favorite rings in the comments of a video

  • Is there a ring style that “embodies” your ideal client? Create a video using photos and videos that shows people the characteristics and reasons why

  • Share your do’s and don’ts of getting rings down the aisle on a wedding day

  • As couples are getting engaged and just starting the wedding planning process, get ahead of their questions with a Reel or TikTok video that answers your FAQs (do a series if you have a lot)

  • Think about the first things your couples start to plan after booking you (or before); whether it’s venue searches, looking for a planner or researching photographers, share your tips to be helpful and get them started on the right foot

  • Introduce yourself to your audience! Since these videos get a larger number of impressions, it’s a good idea to say hello, introduce yourself, and start to lay the foundation to show why you’re great at what you do
